How to Export from Inspiration: if you are using Inspiration to design your graphic organizer for the FOLAC online Training, you will need to export your file into a format your instructor can open. This is an easy process because this option is built into Inspiration. There are two recommended options for exporting which include exporting to word or exporting to an image file format. These are explained below. To export from Inspiration, click the FILE menu and then Export as shown below:
On the next screen you will see tabs for the different file formats you can use including Word, PowerPoint slides, web pages and graphics files. Word and graphic file are the two recommended options. For the Word export, select the file format and options you wish to use and then click save.
If you export to a Word document you will need to save in rich text format (.rtf). Saving a file as Rich Text Format (.rtf) allows the document to be read by nearly any text editor or word processor (ie. Word, WordPerfect, Works, WordPad, etc.) while still maintaining most of the formatting. To save as as an image (.gif, .jpg, .bmp etc.), click the last tab in the Export screen. Select the file format (GIF is recommended) and then click save.
Backing-Up Work: To ensure you do not have to redo an assignment because of a technology glitch or loss of data, please be sure to save a copy of all work on your computer, on a back-up disk, CD, or drive.
