Obtaining a SFTP account at NEFEC
If you do not have an SFTP folder and are in need of one, please contact help@nefec.org to request your account.
You must supply the following information to obtain an account:
- District
- Full Name
- District email id
- intended purpose or use of new account
- An email from your DSO indicating approval for your access
!!! Please note - SFTP folders are only accessible via a site connected to the NEFEC network; such as a district office or school but is NOT accessible from a site outside of the NEFEC network; such as your home or a coffee shop.
Uncompressing files
Files that are left on the SFTP server for a long period of time may be compressed in order to conserve space on the server. If this occurs with your files, they may be 'uncompressed' at the time that you need them. Download a free tool for this task at http://www.7-zip.org , peazip or for Mac users try http://www.izip.com/.
