Designed to provide educators with the necessary skills to determine appropriate instructional methods and strategies for teaching English language learners. Educators will use their knowledge of current first and second language acquisition to plan and deliver appropriate, effective instruction.
This 60-hour, 12-week online course partially fulfills the Florida DOE's ESOL training requirements for Category I teachers that need 300 hours of ESOL and is one of the five courses required for ESOL Endorsement.

NEFEC's courses are for inservice points and are not college level courses. The Florida Department of Education will not accept NEFEC's courses if they are submitted by an individual for recertification or endorsement. They must be submitted through a district as part of their approved Master Inservice Plan.
Participants are responsible for following their district’s requirements to obtain inservice credit and endorsement. If you are unsure if your district will accept courses offered through NEFEC, you will need to check with your district Staffing Development office.
*NOTE: NEFEC Member districts include Baker, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Lafayette, Levy, Monroe, Nassau, Putnam, Suwannee, Union, PK Yonge DRS, and FSDB.
