The Education of Special Populations of Gifted Students module provides an overview of the challenges and issues that face diverse populations of gifted students as they struggle to gain acceptance, recognition, and access to appropriate gifted education to meet their individual needs.

This online course is one of the five courses required for Gifted Endorsement.

Limited copies of the required text for this course (Diverse Populations of Gifted Children: Meeting Their Needs in the Regular Classroom and Beyond) can be checked out to participants through NEFEC. For more information, contact eLearning@nefec.org.

NEFEC's courses are for inservice points and are not college level courses. The Florida Department of Education will not accept NEFEC's courses if they are submitted by an individual for recertification or endorsement. They must be submitted through a district as part of their approved Master Inservice Plan.

Participants are responsible for following their district’s requirements to obtain inservice credit and endorsement. If you are unsure if your district will accept courses offered through NEFEC, you will need to check with your district Staffing Development office.
