What is LEaRN? Just Read, Florida! in partnership with the North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC) has developed an online tool to support K-12 teachers in effective reading instruction.

The Literacy Essentials and Reading Network (LEaRN) focuses on the deployment of a comprehensive series of web-based tutorials depicting best practices consistent with research based reading
instruction. This online reading reference system allows for a
comprehensive approach to reading instruction that will benefit teachers across the state of Florida.

Teacher opprtunity to be a part of LEaRN!!

We are looking for YOUR photos to add to LEaRN. This year we are building a gallery of good ideas. If you've done a fantastic word wall, chart, center, etc... send us your digital photo with a brief description and we'll include it in the new Gallery for phase 3 of the LEaRN tool.

New Resource for Reading Coaches

We have also developed a resource to use in conjuction with the site. This resource guide was created to assist reading coaches or other instructional leaders of K-12 schools in delivering professional development in their schools using the Literacy Essentials and Reading Network, or the LEaRN website.

The lessons are designed to take 30-45 minutes on average, so that they can fit in to the hectic schedule of a teacher. They were created to make professional development simple. Most, if not all of the materials needed for the lesson are included in the manual. Links are provided to access copyrighted information.

How to Access LEaRN

The LEaRN website is a free resource for all educators in the state of Florida. For information on how to register, please download our flyer. You can also go to www.justreadflorida.com and click on Literacy Essentials and Reading Network in the FOR EDUCATORS column and follow the directions for registering.
