NEFEC includes the following academic endorsements in the Master Inservice Plan: Athletic Coaching;English for Speakers of Other Languages(ESOL); Gifted; and Reading. Additionally, NEFEC also covers special programs such as Reading Endorsement for English for Speakers of Other Languages (REESOL) and Professional Development Alternatives for Exceptional Student Educators (PDA-ESE).

Florida educators often choose or are required to add an endorsement to their valid Florida Professional Certificate. Subject specialization for an endorsement is met in one of two ways:

1. Complete the college course requirements listed in State Board Rule for the endorsement, or
2. Complete a Florida school district's approved inservice add-on program for the endorsement.

To enable our educators to meet the requirement listed in # 2 above, NEFEC has included endorsement components in the Master Inservice Plan that covers all participating NEFEC districts. Professional development is available through the Instructional Services Program to meet several of the approved inservice add-on endorsement programs. The endorsements that are currently available through NEFEC (or in coordination with other institutions and agencies) are:

• Reading Endorsement
• ESOL
• Gifted
• Athletic Coaching
