Suzanne Beck

Program Development & Training Specialist, PDCP

Suzanne’s career in education has been one of continuous growth which has helped prepare her for the transition to Program Development and Training Specialist with the Professional Development Certification Program (PDCP) at NEFEC.

She is an honors graduate of Flagler College with a B.A. in Public Administration. Shortly afterward, Suzanne completed the Education Preparation Institute (EPI) at St. Johns State College and began her teaching career in fourth grade at Interlachen Elementary School in 2010. As Suzanne continued to grow as an educator, she transitioned into different grade levels to continue her own growth with a constant goal of inspiring students to love learning.

In 2017, Suzanne became a Novice Teacher Mentor in Putnam County and supported teachers in their first three years of teaching. Through this process, she spent time developing coaching skills and helping others to hone their craft with deliberate questioning. She has earned her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership through Grand Canyon University and spent the last year educating and supporting students as teacher candidates at Toccoa Falls College in NE Georgia.

Suzanne is currently pursuing her PhD. through Grand Canyon University. Her research is focused on how Alternatively Certified teachers describe the impact of mentoring on their sense of self-efficacy in rural districts. She is excited to have the opportunity to impact teachers by supporting them in professional learning opportunities. Her goals are:
• To help build alternative certified teacher self-efficacy through virtual and face to face sessions, progress monitoring discussions, and mentor development.
• For districts to improve retention and teachers’ grow to proficiency, which ultimately plays a role in student achievement.
