Message | Meaning |
CART REMOVED | The cartridge has been removed. Turn the printer off, reinsert the cartridge and turn the printer back on. |
DUPLEX LEVER OFF | The position of the Output Selector Knob is preventing duplex printing, or the printer is set for duplex when printing envelopes. |
EE, LE, or UE LOAD [envelope] | Printer received a request for an envelope size not loaded while printing a job. Load the correct envelope size in the specified tray. |
EE, LC, MP,PC or UC TRAY EMPTY | A paper or envelope tray is empty. |
EE, LE, PE, or UE TRAY [envelope] | The printer needs to know what size envelope is loaded. Press [+] or [-] to select an envelope size, then press [ENTER] then [ON LINE] |
FONTS JOB QUEUED | The Fonts Page job has been accepted and queued for printing. The Fonts Page will print after previously queued jobs finish. |
FONTS PAGE | A page sample of characters is being created and will be printed. It may take up to 4 minutes to create and print this page. |
I/O CONFIG ERROR | Improper communications. Reconfigure your computer and printer. |
I/O DATA ERROR | An error occurred while transferring data from your computer. This can occur if the printer was turned off while receiving data or the baud rate is incorrect. |
LC, PC, MP or UC LOAD [paper size] | Printer received a request for a paper size not loaded. |
MENU RESET | The Printing Menu settings will return to their factory default settings and the correct job will be cleared. |
MF READY | The LaserJet IIIP is ready to receive manual feed paper from the multi-purpose tray. |
NEED MORE MEMORY | There is not enough memory for running the PostScript cartridge or the memory board is not correctly installed. |
NO SUPPORT | The PostScript Cartridge does not support the printer in which you have installed it. |
NO TONER CART | The toner cartridge is not properly installed. |
OFFLINE | The printer is off line. |
OFFLINE PENDING | This appears is [ON LINE] is pressed while the printer is printing a page. When the printer has finished printing, it will go off line. |
OPT I/O ERROR # | A problem occurred on the optional interface. |
PAPER JAM | Paper is jammed in the paper path. Open the printer and clear the paper. |
PE or ME FEED [envelope] | The printer has received a request to manually feed an envelope. |
PF or MF FEED [paper size] | The printer has received a request to manually feed paper of the displayed size. |
PJL ERROR # | A PJL error occurred. |
POSTSCRIPT READY | The printer is on-line in PostScript mode. |
PRINTER OPEN | The printer is open. |
PROCESSING DATA or PS BUSY | The printer is processing PostScript data. Complex PostScript jobs may take from 10 to 15 minutes to print. |
READY/SERVICE 68 | The printer's permanent memory has failed. |
RESET TO SAVE | This reminder appears when you changed Printing Menu settings. |
RESETTING | The current job will be canceled and all Printing Menu items will return to user selected settings |
SERVICE ERROR # | An internal service error occurred. Call your service representative. |
PS ERROR 00 | No more room in dictionary. |
PS ERROR 01 | Dictionary stack overflow (too many begins) |
PS ERROR 02 | Dictionary stack underflow (too many ends) |
PS ERROR 03 | Execution stack overflow (too many nesting levels) |
PS ERROR 04 | Invalid access or array, dictionary, file, string, etc. |
PS ERROR 05 | No "exit" found in loop. |
PS ERROR 06 | Invalid file access. |
PS ERROR 07 | Invalid font name or dictionary. |
PS ERROR 08 | Improper restore. |
PS ERROR 09 | I/O error occurred or a print job from a Macintosh has been canceled. |
PS ERROR 10 | Implementation limit exceeded. |
PS ERROR 11 | Current point is undefined. |
PS ERROR 12 | Operand out of bounds. One common cause of this error is that the tray size requested by your application does not match the tray size you have selected or installed. Another reason for this error is that there is not enough printer memory for duplexing. |
PS ERROR 13 | Operand stack overflow. |
PS ERROR 14 | Operand stack underflow. |
PS ERROR 15 | Syntax error in program text. |
PS ERROR 16 | Time limit exceeded. CTRL-D could be missing or additional data is send after the CTRL-D. |
PS ERROR 17 | Operand of wrong type. |
PS ERROR 18 | Unrecognized data. |
PS ERROR 19 | File not found. |
PS ERROR 20 | Over/underflow or meaningless result. |
PS ERROR 21 | Expected mark not on stack. |
PS ERROR 22 | Unregistered error. |
PS ERROR 23 | Virtual memory exhausted. Your printer does not have enough memory to print your job. Your printer will perform a control panel reset and the print job will be lost. If you are using downloadable fonts, try removing one or two to free up some virtual memory. |
PS ERROR 24 | PostScript quit operator executed. Your printer will perform a control panel reset and the print job will be lost. |
PS ERROR 25 | Fatal computer error. A firmware error internal to PostScript was detected. |
PS ERROR 26 | Configuration error. A setpagedevice request cannot be satisfied. |
PS ERROR 27 | Interrupt error. An external interrupt request (CTR-C) was received. |
PS ERROR 28 | Undefined resource error. |
