Indicator Light On

READY Memory overflow -- An area of the printer's memory called the page buffer has overflown with data from the host computer. Reduce the number of character sets, overlay pages, or macros stored in the printer's memory. Expand the printer's memory by adding a SIMM memory module.

Change the PAGE PROTECT setting to the size of the papet you are using and reset the printer. (Full paint mode requires 2 MB of memory. If necessary, add SIMM memory.)

DATA IN MEMORY Print overrun -- Data from the host computer is too complex. Change the PAGE PROTECT setting to the size of the papet you are using and reset the printer. In full paint mode, the printer does not eject the page until a full page is printed. (Full paint mode requires 2 MB of memory. If necessary, add SIMM memory.)
ADD/CHANGE PAPER Buffer overflow -- an area of the printer's memory called the input buffer has overflown. Thisi occurs when data arrives before the printer is ready to receive it (busy state). Make sure the interface cable is securely connected.

Check that the communications parameters on the printer and the host computer match.

PAPER JAM/CLOSE COVER Print check request -- A temporary error has occurred and affected the print image. Unexpected horizontal lines or images may appear in your printout. Do an error skip to remove the error. The printer will reprint the error page.
PRINTING ERROR and DATA IN MEMORY NVRAM error -- The printer cannot update the NVRAM settings. Reset the printer and try again. If the problem persists, call the Canon help desk at 1-800-423-2366 and ask for the telephone number of your local Canon Authorized Service Facility (ASF).
