The lights on the front of the printer indicate whether the printer is off or on, in the process of receiving data or printing, or in an error state. The following table describes how the lights appear during printing.

Condition Cause
All lights are off. The printer is off.
The Power Light is on. The printer is ready to print. You can send a document to the printer.
The Power Light is blinking. The printer is receiving data from the computer or is printing. Wait for the document to print.
The Print Cartridge Light is blinking. The access door is open, no print cartridge is installed, a print cartridge has failed, the tape on the cartridges has not been removed, or the electrical contacts are dirty.

The following conditions will be indicated by the LEDs on the front panel. Not all of these conditions are errors and the blinking sequence is not necessarily unique for each case.
