Jake Massey

Program Development & Training Specialist, Data Systems, Development & Design

A native citizen of Putnam County, one of the NEFEC member districts, Jake has a heart for the rural community. The son of two mathematics educators, education is in his blood. Jake spent 7 years in the classroom teaching secondary mathematics (from 6th grade to Algebra 2) in Putnam County, where his students received district high scores multiple years. As well as teaching in the classroom, Jake worked as a curriculum writer for Study Edge of Gainesville, writing curriculum for Algebra Nation.

At NEFEC Jake assists in the development and implementation of professional development for educators, specializing in mathematics.

Jake is certified in: Elementary K-6, Middle Grades Integrated, Math 5-9, Math 6-12, Reading, ESOL, and FELE.

Jake is an honors graduate of Saint Leo, where he majored in Elementary Education, and he earned his M.Ed in Educational Leadership from The University of West Florida.

Jake is passionate about the work he completed in the classroom, and did not take the call to leave the classroom lightly. Jake desires to create a larger impact in the classroom by leading educators to create positive relationships, persist in their passions for education and mathematics, and ultimately positively influence the lives of more students.
